The 7 Erotic Languages, described by Aleida Heinz, give names to seven of those doorways. This article asks which one your Body Rhythm Number suggests your desire most easily comes through.

First, find your Body Rhythm Number

Add up every digit of your birth date and reduce to a single digit, keeping 11, 22 and 33. For 14 March 1990, that is 1+4+3+1+9+9+0 = 27, then 2+7 = 9.

The seven languages in one breath each

These are our own words, not the framework's. For the real thing, start with the original.

• Vision. Desire that enters through the eyes: what you see and are seen doing.
• Sound. Desire that enters through the ear: voices, breath, words, music.

Why these numbers

Vision: 1 and 8. The 1 and 8 are drawn to presence and to being watched with intent. For them, a direct gaze across a room is not a preamble. It is already the event.

Sound: 3 and 33. The 3 and 33 respond to the voice: to what is said and how it is said. A low laugh, a whispered sentence, a playlist chosen for the evening can do more than any amount of preparation.

Scent: 9 and 11. The 9 and 11 pick up the subtle and atmospheric before anything is spoken. Skin, a familiar jumper, the air of a room. Their desire is full of memory, and a smell can open it in a second.

Touch: 2 and 6. The 2 and 6 trust the body first. Touch tells them what words can't, and the quality of it, its pressure, patience and warmth, matters more than any technique.

Imagination: 7. The 7 is led by the inner world. The mind is where its desire begins, and fantasy, story and anticipation are not extras. They are the main route in.

Self-Perception: 4 and 22. The 4 and 22 open when they feel grounded and at home in themselves. A good day in their own body is worth more than any romantic setting, and a bad one can close the door whatever else is on offer.

What to do with it

Treat your number as a first guess, not a verdict. Read the language it points to, then check the others: most people have one or two that open the door fastest, and a few more that are pleasant but secondary.

Then try one small experiment this week. If your language is Sound, ask for a voice note. If it is Scent, notice what your partner's pillow does to you. If it is Self-Perception, give yourself an hour before the evening to feel good in your body, without anyone watching. A language is easier to speak once you let yourself use it on purpose.
