Quick answer: Your Inner Desire Number (the classic Soul Urge Number) suggests the sex language you most likely speak. Numbers 3 and 5 speak Fun. Numbers 4, 7 and 22 speak Patience. Numbers 1 and 8 speak Desire. Numbers 6 and 9 speak Pleasure. Numbers 2, 11 and 33 speak Acceptance. This is our own numerological reading, not an official result.

Love languages made it normal to say that people feel cared for in different ways. Sex languages go one step further and ask how people feel wanted, which is not always the same thing. Two people can love each other well and still keep missing each other, because one is asking in a whisper and the other is listening for a joke.

The 5 Sex Languages, credited to Dr. Weiss and summarised by Verywell Mind, are one way to put words to that. This article asks what your Inner Desire Number suggests about the one you speak.

First, find your Inner Desire Number

Take the vowels of your full birth name (A, E, I, O, U, and Y when it acts as a vowel), give each its Pythagorean value (A=1, E=5, I=9, O=6, U=3), add them up and reduce to a single digit, keeping 11, 22 and 33.

It is the same number numerologists call the Soul Urge or Heart's Desire. We call it Inner Desire because here we read it for one thing: what you quietly crave underneath the wanting. The calculator on this site does the arithmetic for you.

The five languages in one breath each

These are our own words, not the model's. For the real thing, start with the original.

  • Fun. Spontaneity, humour and trying new things, without taking the awkward moments too seriously.
  • Patience. Gentleness, trust and slow build-ups. Being fully present rather than rushing.
  • Desire. The pull of wanting and longing: anticipation, tension, being wanted.
  • Pleasure. Physical sensation and feeling good in the body.
  • Acceptance. Body positivity: being fully accepted and celebrated exactly as you are.

Where each number most likely lands

Acceptance2, 11, 33

Why these numbers

Fun: 3 and 5. What the 3 and 5 crave underneath it all is lightness and surprise. They open up through laughter and novelty, and they cool when intimacy turns solemn or scheduled.

Patience: 4, 7 and 22. The 4, 7 and 22 need safety before their bodies follow. Trust, time and being unhurried are not preliminaries for them. They are the main event.

Desire: 1 and 8. The 1 and 8 want to be actively chosen. Direct, charged wanting, from a partner who stands on their own feet, is what reaches them.

Pleasure: 6 and 9. The 6 and 9 love with the whole body. Comfort, warmth and sensation are how they feel loved, and how they love back.

Acceptance: 2, 11 and 33. The 2, 11 and 33 open when they feel deeply seen and received, without having to perform. Being accepted exactly as they are is the strongest invitation they know.

How to use it

Read your language and ask two questions. Do I ask for this out loud, or do I hope it will be guessed? And do I know what my partner's language is?

You don't need to match. You need to be able to say what you need and recognise what you are being offered, even when it arrives in a different accent. If you want to see where all twelve numbers land, read the whole model matched to numbers, or calculate your four desire numbers in the Desire Path calculator.

This is a numerological reading for reflection and entertainment. It is not sexual health advice, and it is not endorsed by the authors of the 5 Sex Languages.

Frequently asked questions

What are the 5 Sex Languages?

The 5 Sex Languages describe how partners build and express intimacy: Fun, Patience, Desire, Pleasure and Acceptance (also described as Celebration). The model is credited to Dr. Weiss and summarised by Verywell Mind.

What is an Inner Desire Number?

It is your Soul Urge Number, calculated from the vowels in your full birth name. On this site we read it as what you quietly crave underneath the wanting.

Is this an official result?

No. The matching on this page is our own numerological interpretation. It is a prompt for reflection, not a test result.

What if my partner speaks a different language?

That is normal, and it is the point. Knowing each other's language lets you ask for what you need and offer what lands. Mismatch is not incompatibility.
